
The wife of killed northern KZN police officer Nkosinathi Ntinga and an alleged hitman appeared in court for the first time on kidnapping and murder charges.
Ntinga was assassinated earlier this week. Two shooters are said to have barged into his KwaMbonambi home on Tuesday night.

They kidnapped Ntinga and a coworker who was in the house with people. Ntinga’s wife was left behind.
According to police, the coworker was forced out of the vehicle along the way. The officer was later discovered shot to death on a riverside.

The wife and the alleged hitman appeared briefly in the KwaMbonambi Magistrate’s Court on Thursday afternoon, according to KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo.
“The two accused Samkelo Mpanza, aged 33, and Ntombizodwa Ntinga, aged 44, who is our colleague and the wife of Ntinga.
“Information was received that the wife was involved as she was left behind when Ntinga was taken with the administration clerk. She has been charged together with the hitman. One suspect is still outstanding.”
