According to a Fox News poll released Wednesday, Biden will deliver the State of the Union with a 45% approval rating.
The president began his third year in office with less than half of the American people satisfied with how he is handling inflation, border security, the economy, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“I would like to hear him talk a lot about Ukraine since I think it is so important to us,” said one man in Washington, D.C.
“I would also like to hear his thoughts about how he can work, at all, with the Republican House. ‘Cause, I think they are a really incredibly challenging group that seems to be anti-everything he is, for not the best of reasons,” the Washingtonian said.
According to a Fox News poll, 81% of Americans see the United States as a “dysfunctional family on the verge of breaking apart,” up 10% from two years ago.
Meanwhile, ahead of the State of the Union address, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that “many, many weeks” of preparation have gone into Biden’s remarks.
“This is something that the president truly sees as a moment to speak to the American people,” Jean-Pierre said.
