A video of a robbery at Pick n Pay in Kensington’s Darras Centre has gone viral on social media.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, was captured on video, and it shows people lying on the floor in the aisles. They are then seen getting up.
Security is spotted entering shortly after. Items can be seen thrown throughout the store’s floor.

The man recording says he just stepped into a robbery and that the criminals took all the money. He stated that five shots were fired.
Another man is heard saying: “My life flashed before my eyes.” The security guard revealed that they had taken his phone, radio, car keys and gun.

Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, spokeswoman for Gauteng police, said Jeppe police are investigating a business robbery after a well-known supermarket was robbed on September 6.

“It is reported that approximately 15 people entered the store wearing face masks. They took an undisclosed amount of cash from the tills, cellphones and a security officer who was within the vicinity was also disarmed of his pistol,” said Nevhuhulwi.
Nevhuhulwi added that the suspects allegedly fired shots in the air as they fled the scene in a Toyota Quantum. No injuries were reported.
