Tshwane Emergency Services personnel made a grim discovery on Tuesday afternoon when they responded to a call about a building fire at the corner of Bosman Street and Pretorius Street.
Instead of flames, they found a man who had fallen into the basement through a lift shaft. As they worked to rescue the injured victim, firefighters stumbled upon two decomposed bodies floating in the water within the same lift shaft.
Upon arriving at the scene, the emergency responders swiftly cut an opening in the basement garage door to reach the injured man. He was safely extracted and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
However, their attention soon shifted to the macabre scene before them: the remains of two individuals, their identities unknown, had been concealed in the depths of the building.

The South African Police Services (SAPS) promptly declared the area a crime scene. While the cause of death for the two victims remains a mystery, investigators are diligently working to uncover the truth.
