The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has expressed her commendation for the members of the Police from Nelspruit for their significant breakthrough in a murder case.

The case involved the tragic killing of a 40-year-old Doctor, identified as Nicholas Procter, who was reported missing on Thursday, 01 February 2024.

Following a thorough investigation, the lifeless body of Dr Procter was discovered in a flat at Green Valley on the same day he was reported missing.

The police promptly opened a murder case and assigned a team of investigators to the matter. These dedicated officers worked tirelessly, around the clock, until they finally cracked the case and apprehended three suspects in Protea Glen, Gauteng Province.

The successful arrest of the suspects took place yesterday, Monday 05 February 2024. They have since been charged with the murder and are scheduled to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, Tuesday 06 February 2024, to face the charges brought against them.

Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, expressed her joy and relief at this significant achievement. She praised the professionalism and dedication displayed by the SAPS team in their investigation, acknowledging the sleepless nights they endured in their pursuit of justice for the slain victim and closure for his grieving family.
