In a memorable event at Orlando Stadium, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi handed out thousands of appointment letters to job applicants, marking a significant step in the fight against unemployment in the province.

The stadium was packed with eager individuals who had applied for the positions, ready to embrace new opportunities to improve their lives.

Addressing the crowd, Premier Lesufi pledged to bring even more jobs to the region, promising to deliver 6,000 job opportunities each month until 2024.

This initiative aims to combat corruption, lawlessness, poverty, and unemployment, uplifting the community as a whole.

To ensure transparency and prevent any potential corruption, the Premier insisted on the public distribution of appointment letters.

Over 50,000 employment offers were handed out, granting successful candidates a chance to start their new roles in either August or September.

Individuals training as solar panel technicians, will receive a monthly stipend of R7,000 to support their journey towards economic empowerment.

The Premier expressed the importance of conducting the event publicly, stating that it was to protect the integrity of the process. By doing so, he hoped to thwart any attempts to favor friends or relatives of those involved.

In their ongoing commitment to combating unemployment and stimulating economic growth, the Gauteng government has also provided employment to more than 40,000 young people through the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative.

These individuals have been appointed to roles such as Education Assistants, General School Assistants, and Early Childhood Development Assistants in schools.
