Last night, a tragic shooting incident occurred in a liquor outlet in Mantangaleni trust, Calcutta, Nelspruit. Two brothers, aged 25 and 30, lost their lives due to gunshot wounds, while a 35-year-old female and a 29-year-old male are currently fighting for their lives in the hospital.
The incident took place on Friday, February 23, 2024, at approximately 23:40. According to reports, unknown suspects approached the victims and opened fire. It is alleged that the suspects also took a firearm from one of the deceased.
Upon the arrival of the police, the first victim was found next to the rear right wheel of his vehicle, while his brother was discovered a few meters away. Both brothers had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The other two victims, a 35-year-old female who was shot in the thigh, and a 29-year-old male who was shot in the upper body, were immediately rushed to the hospital. They are currently receiving medical attention.
Authorities discovered twelve 9mm empty cartridge cases and one projectile at the scene, indicating the intensity of the attack. The police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with information about the suspects to come forward.
