These men brandished firearms, compelling him at gunpoint back into his house. The assailants’ intentions became clear as they forcefully abducted the victim, taking him away in his VW Caravelle.

A 40-year-old suspect was apprehended at the scene, facing multiple charges including kidnapping and possession of an unlicensed firearm. Meanwhile, the pursuit of the remaining suspects continues, with law enforcement agencies leaving no stone unturned.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the provincial police spokesperson, commended the operation, emphasizing the synergy between different units that contributed to this success.

“This operation is a clear indication of what can be achieved through effective collaboration and intelligence-driven policing,” she remarked.

Similarly, Major General Vuyisile Ncata, the Nelson Mandela Bay District Police Commissioner, lauded the officers’ dedication and swift action. “The rescue operation and subsequent arrest highlight our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community,” he stated.
