A 32-year-old man was reportedly attacked in his home in Verulam after a disagreement that occurred during a TikTok Live session.
The incident took place in Trenance Park around 2 pm, and local authorities, including the South African Police Service (SAPS) and private security companies, responded to the scene.
Prem Balram from Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) arrived at the location after receiving reports of an ongoing invasion. Upon arrival, Balram encountered the victim, who was accompanied by his distressed 59-year-old mother.
According to Balram, the victim explained that two men had arrived at their residence and demanded access by asking him to unlock the security gate.
When the victim refused to comply with their demands, he was allegedly punched through an opening in the gate. The assailants then attempted to force their way into the house by bending the gate.
Sensing the danger, the victim’s mother called out for help from their neighbors. It is believed that the suspects fled the scene, and details about their vehicle remain unknown.
During his conversation with Rusa officials, the male victim revealed that one of his attackers is a well-known TikTok influencer.

The altercation that led to the attack reportedly occurred during a TikTok Live session on Monday. Additionally, the victim expressed that he has been subjected to constant bullying by certain influencers on the platform.
Following the incident, a criminal case has been registered, and investigations are currently underway. The SAPS has been contacted to inquire about the status of the case, and further comments will be provided once a response is received.
