According to the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE), a grade 10 boy who assaulted a girl in his grade has been suspended.
A video of the assault at Krugersdorp’s Nic Diederichs High School has gone viral on social media.
Two students, a girl and a boy, can be seen approaching the victim, who is seated near other students on the school grounds. The boy appears to be confronting the girl. She stands, hands on her hips, as the argument appears to continue.
The boy is then seen handing his companion what appears to be a cell phone. He then hits the girl with whom he was arguing over the head.
The girl retreats, attempting to strike back but was met by a barrage of blows.
