The incident took place on the Ben Schoeman Highway when officers from the Tshwane Metro Police Department’s accident unit were conducting road policing.

They noticed a bus approaching from the Fountains area, heading towards Centurion, with an excessive number of passengers. Some of the passengers were even standing behind the front windscreen near the driver.
