The community of Soweto is mourning the tragic deaths of five children, aged between six and ten, who lost their lives reportedly due to consuming poisoned snacks purchased from a foreign-owned spaza shop.

This heart-wrenching incident has triggered outrage among residents, leading to the shutdown and looting of multiple foreign-owned establishments in the Naledi and Tladi areas. The anger is spearheaded by Operation Dudula, a group focused on holding undocumented foreigners accountable for purported threats to community safety.
