A 20-year-old man is scheduled to appear before the Phalala Magistrate’s Court on Friday, facing charges of murder following the tragic death of his 16-year-old younger brother.
The incident occurred at Vianeen Village, Marken, on Wednesday, as confirmed by Limpopo provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
According to Colonel Ledwaba, the police were on duty when they received a complaint about a murder in Vianeen Village. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered the body of a teenage boy lying on his bed with stab wounds on his back.

It was revealed that the two brothers allegedly had a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, the elder brother reportedly stabbed the younger brother in the back with a knife.
Following the attack, the elder brother went to a relative to inform them about the incident. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but the victim was certified dead upon their arrival.
A case was then opened at Witpoort Police Station. The suspect was arrested in Vianeen Village and detained at the police station.
The 20-year-old suspect is now facing serious charges and is set to appear before the Phalala Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting the tragic consequences of familial conflicts that escalate to violence.
