He divorced his first wife, Thabong Nxumalo, in 2010 after it was claimed that he had an extramarital affair with Nomachule “Norma” Gigaba (née Mngoma), who later became his second wife.
Norma and Gigaba wedded in 2014, but their marriage ended in bitterness in 2020, leading to the businesswoman keying his friend’s Mercedes-Benz G-Class after he allegedly cheated as well.
She was arrested as a result. In July of the same year, she was freed after posting an R5,000 bail.
Additionally, Norma testified against Gigaba at the Zondo commission in 2021, claiming that he worked with the Gupta family to capture the state.
