Press-on nails have become a great trend in the beauty industry. This, of course, is due to nail technicians and salons closing because of the Covid-19 pandemic. But even before the Covid-19 pandemic, many people including celebrities have been using press-on nails.

The Covid-19 pandemic had put a pause on everything but fortunately there was and still is an alternative to beautiful artificial nails that you can apply yourself.

Before you can do anything, you first need to do some preparation work. Wash your hands to get rid of oils or lotion. You can then buff your nails lightly and wipe with acetone. This will help the glue to adhere a lot better.

You can then fit the nails to your natural nails for the right fit. Fitting them will prevent premature popping off or lifting.

Remember the proper fit should always cover your whole natural nail.

Some press-on nail kits come with adhesive tabs to secure the nails. They are an alternative to glue. Adhesive tabs do not last longer than, at least, two days. Some people prefer to use of both adhesive tabs and glue at the same time.

The glue on its own can go a long a way. A few drops can cover your entire nail. Just make sure you do not use too much. You can press on the nail for 10 to 15 seconds for the nail to attach on your own.

A note to grasp is that the duration of how long your artificial nails can last is determined by your use of water. The more and longer you have your hands submerged in water can make the nails to pop off sooner or quicker.

The removal process is where most people get it wrong or end up having their natural nails damaged.

The safest way to remove your press-on nails is to soak your fingers in acetone. But this method can damage the artificial nail.
