Joslin Smith Case Postponed To September

The case against four individuals linked to the disappearance of little Joslin Smith has recently seen a significant development.

On Monday morning, the four accused, including Joslin’s mother, briefly appeared before the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court. The charges they face are serious, including trafficking in person and kidnapping.

Joslin Smith has been missing since February of this year, a disappearance that occurred while she was in the care of her mother’s boyfriend.

The Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Magistrate Yolisa Sikhoyo, convened to address the case’s current standing. During the hearing, the magistrate acknowledged the substantial amount of investigation still pending.

Magistrate Sikhoyo stated, “Due to the amount of the investigation that is still outstanding, your matter is going to be postponed again to give the state an opportunity to complete its investigation.”

Both the state and the defence agreed upon a new date, scheduling the next hearing for the 16th of September. Until then, the four accused remain in custody.
