Watch| DJ Sbu Breaks His Silence on Zahara’s Death: “I’m Not To Blame”

Reports suggest that she battled to make mortgage payments and afford essentials, leading her to turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism. This, in turn, reportedly led to liver disease, ultimately claiming her life.

South Africa is abuzz with accusations aimed at DJ Sbu and his record label, TS Records, over their alleged neglect of the late musician Zahara’s financial well-being. Speculations suggest that Zahara’s tragic demise was a result of her struggles with unpaid royalties and financial hardships.

Zahara, known as Bulelwa Mkutukana in real life, rose to fame with her debut album “Loliwe” in 2011, which was introduced to the world by DJ Sbu and TK Nciza.

In a heartfelt tribute to Zahara during an interview, DJ Sbu made it clear that he had never done anything to wrong her. He emphasized that he had always been committed to helping her succeed and ensuring that she received what she deserved.

“We made sure she owns her own publishing,” he said.

“Sheer publishing pays her directly, and Universal Music pays her directly as well.”

But despite DJ Sbu’s efforts to clear his name, the critics were still out in full force. However, our brave DJ is no stranger to the harsh realities of being in the public eye. “People might be mad and might want to find somebody to blame,” he acknowledged.

“A lot of people are saying I’m to blame. Even though I am not, I understand. It’s okay, let’s be angry, let’s be sad. Let’s mourn.”

Throughout the years, DJ Sbu has consistently maintained his innocence, firmly stating that he never swindled Zahara out of any money.
