Soapie making is not all rosy. It requires a high level of discipline, dedication, and determination from all parties. Phindile Gwala might have had a role in a soapie (Muvhango) before where she starred as Nonny, however, it has been proven that she’s only good at playing minor roles.

The role of Fikile on Imbewu: The Seed has been said to be too big for her and has failed to live up to the showrunners’ expectations. According to reports, the new producers of the eTV show fired her character due to her craft competence. She wasn’t what the showrunners expected from her.
