The Wife season three is already looking interesting. The Showmax series has introduced several talented artists and now for the cherry on top, we’ve been informed that Lungelo Mpangase has also made it to the long list of the cast.

Recall that the series abruptly ended after viewers complained about how the storyline wasn’t pleasing to them. That was because it was too different from Dudu Busane-Dube’s book Hlomu-The Wife. But now the producers have made a sharp U-turn and promise to take it closer to the book.

So, it’s said that Lungelo who previously starred in eHostela and Mzali Wami will turn things up as Sambulo’s new love interest Xoli. According to Sunday World Sambulo will meet Xoli while in hiding. Viewers will witness Sambulo being able to express himself to his lover and will be more open in the new season.

Speaking on her character Lungelo said: “Xoli is a very free-spirited person, she believes in her own rules and knows the power that she has. She’s not your typical submissive Zulu girl, but lives by her own rules and is very free sexually, hence she knows the power she has with her body,” said Mpangase.

“The difference between Xoli and Lungelo is that I personally am a ‘girly girl’ and Xoli is brave and intelligent. Xoli does things that I don’t think I would even dream of doing, she’s brave and out there, meanwhile, Lungelo is an introvert.”

“If there was a bit of me there, I wasn’t going to be true to my performance, because I would have some doubts and ask myself if I’m doing the right thing. For me, that was one of the challenges that I have had with playing Xoli.”
