It’s the end of the road for Abdul Khoza who played the role of Nqoba on The Wife.

Well, viewers of The Wife were not only saddened by the departure of their favourite actor from the programme, but they were also upset by the funeral for his character Nqoba.

Twitter users thought Nqoba’s recent episode, in which he was buried in Johannesburg instead of his other family members, was a sombre send-off.

After viewers saw his character killed, Abdul wrote note pouring his heart out. He claimed in a lengthy Instagram post that he was just an extra in the show and had no say in how long his character would last.

“I’d like to take this time to thank everyone who showed me love and support during my time at The Wife.

“I will always love you, but I’d also like to apologise to those who are saddened by my departure from the show.

“Unfortunately, no actor writes their own character’s story, so please understand  I cannot change or influence any show to keep any of my characters once they have written the story.

“I am just an actor right now. Hope we see each other on our next journey. I will forever be honoured and humbled by the love of our viewers and we appreciate each and every one one of you,” the actor wrote.

Meanwhile, Mandisa’s who is Nqoba’s sweet expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work with such a “incredible” talent.

“I think our chemistry worked because of how dynamic yet similar our characters are. The one is a female version of the other and vice versa.

“He is the scene partner I didn’t know I needed. We got to play so much on set,” she said.
