Gomora has touched a very sensitive issue and for many viewers, it had hit closer to home. Teddy has just confided in his mom, Zodwa that he was raped by his school teacher Manzi.
Knowing the kind of relationship that the two have, most people expected Zodwa to show support to her son but instead, she couldn’t believe him talk less of giving him a shoulder to cry on. Teddy had to quickly remind her how he stood by her when people called her names and labelled her a drunkard.

Well, that didn’t change anything instead she turned the whole scenario to be about her and had asked him to move on. Hebana as if rape isn’t a serious issue!
Many viewers expressed their disappointment in the character, with some going as far as saying that the scenario depicted a typical black parent as they’ll hardly believe their children when such matters arise.
One tweep went as far as saying that this was a generational curse that black communities need to break. Another also pleaded with parents to believe their kids when they come with such issues.
