Amamkele Qamata(21), who plays the role of Buhle in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Gomora, dropped out of Varsity to pursue her acting career.

Amamkele plays the role of Buhle, the daughter of Nthati. Buhle is a 15-year-old girl who takes after her mother and is extremely popular at school, she is what we call the Queen of the “in crowd”, everybody loves her.
The young actress hails from Qala in the Eastern Cape and her acting skills were identified in the early stages of her life, when she played the role of Snow White in a school play and was acclaimed for her performance.
The rising star has appeared on SABC 1’s “My perfect Family” whilst she was in high school and also acted on E.TV’s Rhythm City.
The University of Cape Town theatre and performance student, decided to put her studies on hold, so she could go pursue a lead role on a Netflix series titled Blood and Money. At that time she was doing her second year at university.

After shooting the series and with the hope of going back to school one of the people she was working with told her about the role of Buhle on Gomora.
Like any other person who wants to advance their career she went and auditioned for the role and got it, forcing her to not return to school again.
Her character Buhle went to her friends to show them the pictures of the coffee shop date, that Ntokozo made up in the Principal’s office. Well one of Buhle’s friends saw their nudes and sent them to her own phone.
When Buhle arrived at home her brother tells her to check out her phone, only to find out that her nudes have been leaked.
