Guys are we really sure that want Breezy to come to SA mara? His concert has caused so much uproar and now on the hot seat is our uncle Somizi Mhlongo. And iyooo malume is being roasted for all the wrong reasons.
So, following the controversy surrounding Chris Brown and his upcoming shows in South Africa, netizens have pointed fingers at double standards in how society treats different figures accused of similar behaviours.
Users on X (formerly Twitter) are asking why is it that Chris Brown is facing widespread backlash while Somizi’s past allegations have seemingly been brushed aside.
The Call for Accountability
Amid the calls from Women for Change to boycott Chris Brown’s performances, many people are expressing disappointment at Somizi’s continued support from the public.
Users argue that if Chris’s alleged history of gender-based violence (GBV) is enough reason for a boycott, then Somizi, who has faced similar criticisms, should also be held accountable. Just in case you’re confused about what they talking about.
Remember that his Ben10 ex-hubby came out in public crying about the abuse he suffered at the radio presenter’s hand. Apparently, the former Idols SA judge used to beat up Mohale and allegedly give him that feasting ntoni ntoni.
And then again, back in 2008 malume Somizi was sentenced to four months imprisonment or a R6000 fine by the Randburg magistrate court. Half of the sentence was suspended for three years. And of course, he paid the R6K.
The court found that he had sexually assaulted a man named Celani Njapha in his Lonehill home after offering him a lift on Rivonia Road.
Petitioning Against Somizi?
To amplify their voices, unhappy fans have even initiated a petition demanding that Somizi be cancelled too. Social media is abuzz with opinions, including a notable comment from @isephara, who remarked on the inequality in responses: “On the right: Chris Brown, who was accused of GBV, pleaded guilty to violence. Yet on the left, Somizi, facing similar allegations, continues to thrive. How is this fair?”
On the right: Chris Brown, who was accused of GBV plead guilty & went to prison. His music & life were on pause
On the left: Somizi Mhlongo who was accused of GBV, didn’t go to prison, denied it all, his life carried on normally
Guess which one fake feminists are angry at?😖 pic.twitter.com/FYdzadCayY

Didn’t Somizi also allegedly sexually assault someone?

Somizi is also a registered sex offender, but they don’t care.

We are angry at both of them.
We want to de-platform both of them.— $HALA🇵🇸🇿🇦 (@Shalatheunicorn) October 9, 2024
Then, where are petitions and calling out people who support Phori, Lorch, etc.
Somizi, a convicted Sexual offender, recently opened a clothing line targeted at children and the Women for change & it’s fellow activists haven’t said a word or start petition because of his past🙄— Lyanna (@Lyanna2000) October 9, 2024
Internet never forgets, my bro. You can literally look at their page, majority of them haven’t written any paragraphs or pushed petitions against Phori, Lorch, Somizi, and many more. Their spirit of activism only gets activated when it’s an American, not because they truly care.

Lol Somizi was convicted for sexual assault & we still hear him on our radios. Hell, even Idols SA fired Unathi & kept him. I’m yet to see any petition to cancel him
