Mihlali Ndamase, the South African beauty influencer, found herself in hot water after posting a photo taken with Rihanna.
While attending a Fenty launch event in California, Mihlali had the opportunity to take a snap with the international star, who is also the CEO of the company.
However, instead of receiving praise for the photo, Mihlali was met with a barrage of criticism from Americans.

Many accused her of editing the picture to make herself look more beautiful than Rihanna. The backlash was so intense that Mihlali was labelled with all sorts of hideous names.
Some South Africans tried to defend Mihlali, but they were outnumbered by those joining the American Twitter in shaming her.
One Twitter user attempted to explain the real issue, stating, “No one disputes that Mihlali is gorgeous with or without makeup. The problem is how she edited her own pic and left Riri bare, which screamed mean girl energy.”
This is not the first time Mihlali Ndamase has faced criticism for editing her photos. She was previously accused of doing the same thing to Bonang a few years ago.
While some may argue that Mihlali is simply enhancing her appearance, others believe it is unnecessary and disrespectful to try and outshine someone like Rihanna.
