Amapiano star Kabza De Small, whose real name is Kabelo Motha, recently released a video where he sets the record straight regarding the ongoing rumours about a supposed beef with DJ Maphorisa.
The speculation surrounding their relationship has been circulating for some time now, and Kabza decided it was time to address the issue head-on.
DJ Maphorisa, whose real name is Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, has expressed his frustration with fans constantly bombarding him with questions about Kabza.
In a recent Instagram live session, Maphorisa vented his annoyance, stating, “You guys like asking me about Kabza as if I’m married to him. Kabza is married, he has a wife. Are you guys crazy? Stop asking me about Kabza every day like I’m marking the register. Are you mad?”
Maphorisa went on to emphasize that Kabza has his own life, his own house, and his own studio. He questioned why fans were not directing their inquiries to Kabza himself, sarcastically adding, “Where’s Kabza? Where’s Kabza? Where’s your mother and grandmother?”
The Blaqboy Music owner’s frustration stemmed from his desire to have a positive Instagram live session, only to have fans persistently ask about Kabza. He made it clear that Kabza is not obligated to live his life for him and that the constant questioning was nonsensical.
Following Maphorisa’s remarks, rumours began to circulate that there was a rift between the two artists. However, Kabza swiftly put those rumours to rest in a video shared on social media.
He vehemently denied any beef with Maphorisa, stating, “Are they saying I’m beefing with Phori [Maphorisa]? They are crazy. They are talking sh*t. You can never separate us. Forget it!”
Kabza emphasized that nothing could come between their friendship and partnership. He dismissed the rumours as baseless and asserted that he and Maphorisa are inseparable.

The origins of Kabza and Maphorisa’s collaboration date back to when they first met. In an interview on the Street Fame Culture podcast in December 2023, Maphorisa shared how they crossed paths.
He explained, “He blew my mind with the songs he was playing, and I started following him.” Maphorisa was captivated by Kabza’s unique musical style and felt compelled to join forces.
