It seems like singer Cici’s battle to sever ties with record label Ambitiouz Entertainment is far from over. According to reliable sources, the talented musician has turned to her lawyers in a bid to officially release herself from the controversial record deal.
However, Ambitiouz Entertainment’s boss, Kgosi Mahumapelo, has made it clear that Cici, whose real name is Busisiwe Thwala, is still bound by her contract with the label.
The Copyright Dispute
The ongoing feud between Cici and her boss stems from a copyright claim made by Ambitiouz Entertainment against the song ‘Thula’, in which Cici is featured alongside DJ Zinhle.
This claim resulted in the song being removed from popular streaming sites, such as Apple Music and Spotify. It was only after negotiations between DJ Zinhle and Mahumapelo that the song was reinstated, with Ambitiouz Entertainment being credited as the official record label.
Mahumapelo’s Statement
When asked about the situation, Mahumapelo asserted his authority by stating, “The artist, Cici, is still under contract with Ambitiouz Entertainment. Yes, we did lodge claims against the song.”
This statement further complicates the already strained relationship between the award-winning singer and her record label.

The Battle Continues
As the legal battle continues, Cici’s determination to break free from Ambitiouz Entertainment remains steadfast. It is evident that she is not willing to let her talent be overshadowed by contractual obligations. Only time will tell how this dispute will unfold and whether Cici will be able to regain control over her career.
