Last week, reality TV star and DJ Gogo Skhotheni, whose real name is Tumi Motsoeneng, made headlines when she revealed that she underwent cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
Clearing the air on speculations, she confirmed under the comments section on Instagram blog Maphepha Ndaba that it wasn’t the popular Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) that she opted for.
“It’s not BBL that I did. I did a tummy tuck, and I had to fill certain parts of my body like hip dips,” Skhotheni clarified. She elaborated on her decision, saying that she was unhappy with the body changes that occurred after childbirth.
“I wanted the body I had before having kids and I couldn’t get it, no matter how hard I tried,” she added.
Skhotheni candidly shared her journey of losing weight by eating healthily and using slimming tea, but she was still not satisfied with the results.

“Now I wanted to shape my body the way I wanted and in a way that would make me happy,” she explained. The entire process cost her nearly R230,000, including flights and other associated costs.
Discussing the surgery’s aftermath, Skhotheni mentioned experiencing intense pain immediately after the procedure.
“Pain out of 10 was 10, but only on the first day, a few minutes after the surgery,” she said. However, the pain was short-lived, and she described the recovery process as manageable. A 24-hour nurse was on call to aid her in walking and getting out of bed, which significantly helped her recovery.
To give her fans a glimpse into her experience, Skhotheni shared a video on her Instagram stories, documenting her journey. Despite the initial pain, she seems pleased with the results and is happy to be on a path that makes her feel more confident and content with her body.
