Melinda Ferguson, author of the book “When Love Kills” which delves into the relationship of Anele Tembe and Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, has expressed doubts about Anele’s alleged suicide.
In a recent episode of the podcast “Podcast and Chill,” Ferguson discussed the book, which explores themes of toxic obsession, substance abuse, and violence.
Ferguson admitted to being disturbed by Anele’s fall and found it strange that Kiernan didn’t immediately check on his fiancée. She questioned whether someone who truly loves another person would not rush to their side in such a situation.
During the writing process, Ferguson claimed to have spoken with Anele’s father, Moses. In a Facebook post, she explained that a leaked version of the book had forced her to publicly announce its release earlier than planned. She also shared that she had received criticism for her work.
Ferguson wrote the book in an attempt to understand the tragic story of two individuals who fell into a destructive spiral of toxic love. She revealed that her own experiences as an addict and someone who has been in dangerous and obsessive relationships compelled her to explore their story.
While Ferguson’s doubts may not provide concrete evidence, they do raise questions about the circumstances surrounding Anele’s death.
As the public continues to grapple with the tragedy, it is important to approach the topic with sensitivity and respect for all those involved.
