Talented actress Brenda Mhlongo, known for her roles in popular shows like Generations and Imbewu: The Seed, has now joined the cast of Mzansi Wethu’s telenovela, Sibongile and the Dlaminis.
According to entertainment commentator Jabu McDonald, Mhlongo will be playing the role of Sibongile’s aunt in the show. TVSA’s April teasers suggest that her character will be involved in Sibongile’s negotiations with the Dlaminis.

On Monday, April 22nd, viewers can expect to see Sibongile’s aunt dropping her off at the Dlamini home and demanding that they pay inhlawulo for their makoti.
Mhlongo is best known for her portrayal of Priscilla “Kamadonsela” Bhengu in the now-canceled telenovela, Imbewu: The Seed. She has also appeared in the popular soapie, Generations: The Legacy, as Nandi, the wife of Jack Mabaso (played by Vusi Kunene).

Sibongile and the Dlaminis is currently the most-watched telenovela on Mzansi Wethu and the second most-watched TV show on DStv. According to the Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) February 2024 figures, the show has secured an impressive 819,284 viewers.
The telenovela also stars actors Ayanda Borotho and Siyabonga Shibe, who portray a husband and wife in the series.
