Actress and media personality Amanda du Pont has joined the conversation surrounding the allegations of domestic abuse against Taariq Jaftha, the brother of Instagram influencer Nadia Jaftha.
In an emotional Instagram Live session, the family of Taariq’s wife, Danica (also known as Aleesha), expressed their concerns about her well-being and their fight to reunite with her.

According to a friend of Danica, she had reached out to her last week, planning to “escape” from Taariq. Danica managed to flee in the middle of the night, but Taariq allegedly found her the next day and reprimanded her for meddling.
The family shared their love and support for Danica, vowing to fight for her and the children.
Amanda du Pont, known for her advocacy against gender-based violence, took to Instagram to express her emotional reaction to the situation.
In response to a post from Danica’s brother, Dale, she commented, “I’m in absolute tears. Your family gives us hope for change.” She continued, “Love heals and God saves. Praying with you and offering my support in any way to bring Danica back and help other women living this nightmare.”
It is important to note that both Taariq and Danica have denied the allegations made by her family and have claimed that there is no cause for concern. However, the family believes that not only Danica but also Taariq’s other two wives are allegedly in danger and have been “indoctrinated.”
Amanda du Pont’s support for the alleged victims of Taariq Jaftha’s domestic abuse adds to the growing conversation surrounding gender-based violence in South Africa. Her advocacy and willingness to stand up against such issues are commendable.
