Alleged Second Gunman In AKA Murder Case Accused Of Forging Medical Report

This alleged forgery and misrepresentation in the bail application have serious legal implications for Mkhwanazi and the case as a whole.

Recently, in the high-profile case of the double murder of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, a new twist has emerged.

Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, one of the accused and alleged second gunman in the case, has been accused of submitting a forged medical report to support his bail application.

Mkhwanazi, in his plea for bail, claimed to be asthmatic and presented a doctor’s note to substantiate his medical condition. However, this medical report has been found to be fraudulent.

The state in the murder case has revealed that Mkhwanazi attempted to fake his medical records to strengthen his bail application. The alleged forgery was brought to light as the summary of the heads of arguments was presented in court.

Magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo, presiding over the case, highlighted the evidence presented by the state.

According to him, it was stated that Mkhwanazi, with the assistance of his wife, misrepresented to Dr Moodley in Umtubatuba on the 11th of March 2024, that the person accompanying his wife at the doctor’s office was indeed Mkhwanazi himself.

However, this claim was debunked by the fact that Mkhwanazi was already detained at the Westville prison at the time of the alleged visit to the doctor. This revelation clearly indicated an attempt to deceive and manipulate the circumstances to gain an advantage in the bail application.

This alleged forgery and misrepresentation in the bail application have serious legal implications for Mkhwanazi and the case as a whole.

The attempt to use fraudulent means to secure bail not only undermines the judicial process but also raises questions about the credibility and integrity of the accused. The deliberate falsification of medical records to elicit sympathy and support for a bail application reflects a blatant disregard for the law and the truth.

Furthermore, the denial of bail for all five men implicated in the matter underscores the gravity of the charges and the court’s stance on the potential flight risk and danger they may pose to society if released.
