Investigations into the high-profile murder case of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his close friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane have revealed that AKA was the main target of the alleged hit.
General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the KwaZulu-Natal provincial police commissioner, confirmed that six suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to Mkhwanazi, AKA was followed from the airport to the hotel and then to the restaurant where the incident took place.
The plan was not to shoot him in the manner it happened, but rather to shoot him inside the vehicle. The suspects, including the mastermind or coordinator of the crime, two shooters, two spotters, and the organiser of firearms and vehicles used, are currently in police custody.
The police have recovered four vehicles linked to the case, a firearm, and cartridges that were connected to another crime scene. The investigation also revealed that the suspects were involved in parallel murder cases, which helped the police keep them in custody.
While there is a possibility of other suspects, the case against the six individuals currently in custody is strong. The suspects are expected to appear in court on Thursday.

This development comes after the arrest of two South African nationals in eSwatini, who are wanted for information about several murder cases, including that of a musician. However, Mkhwanazi clarified that these suspects are not linked to the AKA murder investigation.
The police are continuing their efforts to bring all those involved in the murder to justice and ensure that the full extent of the crime is uncovered.
