Dramatic Turn Of Events! Sipho Ndlovu’s Girlfriend Arrested After GBV Accusations

On Tuesday, 16 July, the internet was set ablaze when Mhlanga, girlfriend of popular actor Sipho Ndlovu, took to Facebook to accuse him of gender-based violence (GBV).

The actress shared alarming images of her bruised eye with the caption “results of dating a weak man. Please share and repost.”

Sipho Ndlovu, best known for his role as Sambulo Zulu in The Wife, has vehemently denied these accusations. Speaking to Sunday World, Ndlovu revealed that he had opened a case at the Douglasdale Police Station in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening.

Ndlovu claims that he never assaulted Mhlanga and provided video evidence allegedly showing the actress climbing a wall to enter his estate. “We are dealing with someone who is bitter and wants to destroy my name with something so sensitive and serious like gender-based violence,” he said.

According to Mhlanga’s account in an interview with Zimoja, she found Ndlovu’s behaviour suspicious after he called her at 18:00 on Saturday to wish her good night. When she called again at 20:00, the actor pretended to be asleep.

Determined to uncover the truth, Mhlanga drove to his place, gained entry forcefully, and allegedly found Ndlovu outside with another woman. She claimed that Ndlovu blocked her from entering the house, slapped her, and pushed her to the ground.

Adding another twist to the tale, Mhlanga was arrested at her workplace on Thursday morning.

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza confirmed the arrest and stated that charges of harassment, crimen injuria, trespassing, and defamation of character had been opened. Mhlanga is set to appear before the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 19 July.
