Anele Tembe’s Death Investigation: What the Family Believes Happened

It seems like the mystery surrounding Anele Tembe’s tragic death is far from over. The family of the young woman, who was engaged to rapper AKA, will finally get some answers as a formal inquest into her untimely demise is set to take place.
The news comes after months of speculation and accusations, with the rapper himself being accused of foul play.
In 2021, Anele Tembe fell to her death from the tenth floor of a Cape Town hotel. According to AKA, the couple had an argument just moments before her fatal fall.
However, the leaked letter from the Tembe family’s attorneys to the National Prosecuting Authority revealed a different side of the story.
The family believes that AKA allegedly pushed Anele off the hotel balcony. They also claim that he partied and drank with friends after her death, ignored her for 20 minutes while she was still alive, and even cleaned up blood in the hotel room, possibly to hide evidence of an altercation.
Despite the initial decision not to prosecute anyone following the inquest, the NPA has now decided to revisit the case. The investigation into Anele Tembe’s death has always remained active, according to Western Cape police spokesperson Captain Frederick Van Wyk.
The upcoming inquest, scheduled for April 15, 2024, will provide an indication of whether a criminal offence occurred and if foul play was involved in Tembe’s tragic death. Throughout the process, the investigating officer has remained in contact with the Tembe family, keeping them updated on the progress made in the case.
As the inquest unfolds, the truth behind Anele Tembe’s death will hopefully be revealed, bringing closure to her grieving family and shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
