The flames, fueled by gale-force winds, have been spreading through properties in Echo Road. To maximize their efforts, the fire area has been divided into three divisions, each focused on saving property and minimizing damage.

Initial estimates suggested that at least nine properties had been destroyed, but Carelse clarified that three formal dwellings were destroyed, and four were partially damaged. Additionally, two females had to be evacuated from their home as it collapsed.

The city’s staff is also dealing with rockfalls caused by the inclement weather. Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has activated emergency and rescue teams in preparation for an approaching storm.
