Several areas in Sandton are currently experiencing a water shortage due to a major pipe burst in Atholl. Joburg Water has taken the necessary steps to address the issue by temporarily shutting off the water supply to the Illovo Tower, allowing for repairs to take place.
The pipe burst in Atholl has been leaking since Wednesday, and Joburg Water is working diligently to repair it. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no estimated timeframe for when the repairs will be completed.
The water outage has affected various areas including Illovo, Morningside, Rivonia, Benmore Gardens, Riverclub, and Hyde Park. To mitigate the impact of the water shortage, Joburg Water has deployed water tankers to these affected areas. These tankers will provide temporary relief until the repairs are finished.
While the utility is doing everything possible to resolve the issue promptly, the uncertainty surrounding the completion of the repairs is causing inconvenience for residents and businesses in the affected areas. Joburg Water assures the community that they are working tirelessly to restore the water supply as soon as possible.
