Zuma Orders Daughter To Apologise After Shivambu Rant Or Face Expulsion From MK Party
MK Party leader Jacob Zuma has given his daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, an ultimatum—apologise immediately to the party’s secretary-general Floyd Shivambu for a string of insults on X (formerly Twitter) or face expulsion.
Zuma-Sambudla has been ordered to publicly apologise to Shivambu, the President, MK Party members, supporters, and the people of South Africa after she lashed out at Shivambu, calling him the “worst thing to happen to MKP” and telling him, “F#% you.”*
Apologise or Be Expelled
In a midnight statement, the former president made it clear that if Zuma-Sambudla does not comply, she will face “immediate consequences”, including the termination of her MK Party membership and the removal from all party responsibilities.
“uMkhonto weSizwe Party is a movement of the people, grounded in maximum discipline and strict adherence to the Disciplinary Code of Conduct. No member, regardless of position, is above the Constitution of uMkhonto weSizwe,” said Zuma.

Factional Divide in MK Party?
The dispute has sparked a visible rift within the party, with members and supporters taking opposing sides on social media.
An account claiming to be the MK Party’s Info Centre responded to Zuma-Sambudla’s attacks, emphasising unity: “Members of the MK Party who joined in December 2023 are as important as members who joined on February 10, 2025. MK Party is for all members! Our focus is to help our communities! Our focus is 2026 local government elections! Fight or submit. Gwaza Mkhonto.”
She, however, dismissed the post, accusing Shivambu’s allies of running the account.
“Floyd, I’m not scared of you! Tell your minions to f*ck off… Bloody Mafikizolos [newcomers],” she posted.
She continued, reiterating her contempt for Shivambu, stating:
“They will expel me tomorrow… It is well with my soul. Oksalayo [at the end of the day], Floyd is useless.”
Hacked or Not?
As the explosive online feud unfolded, speculation mounted over whether Zuma-Sambudla’s account had been hacked. Some users believed the posts sounded exactly like her, while others argued that it was out of character.
For now, all eyes are on Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla—will she apologise or stand her ground and face expulsion?
