Jacob Zuma Appoints Convicted Fraudster Joe Ndhlela As MK Party’s National Organiser

In a controversial move, former South African President Jacob Zuma has appointed Joe Ndhlela, a convicted fraudster, as the national organiser of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party.

The announcement was made in consultation with the MK Party’s National High Command and takes effect immediately, according to a party statement.

Background on Joe Ndhlela

Ndhlela, a former Premier Soccer League (PSL) CEO, was convicted in 2022 of multiple counts of fraud related to his tenure at Transnet in the 1990s. He was implicated in facilitating fraudulent commission payments amounting to nearly R190,000.

Reactions to the Appointment

The decision to appoint Ndhlela has sparked public debate. Critics argue it undermines the credibility of the party and raises questions about its commitment to ethical governance. However, the MK Party has defended the appointment, citing Ndhlela’s extensive contributions to its electoral preparations.
