Zuma ANC Disciplinary Hearing ‘Will Sit’ On Wednesday

The Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) party has confirmed that former President Jacob Zuma’s African National Congress (ANC) disciplinary hearing will take place on Wednesday.

This hearing, which will be held virtually, has garnered significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the individual involved and the charges he faces.

Jacob Zuma has been charged with contravening the ANC’s rules, including violating the party’s constitution. These charges stem from his decision to support and serve as the face of the MK party for the general elections in May.

Additionally, the ANC has accused Zuma of breaching his membership oath by pledging not to campaign for the party.

The decision to hold the hearing virtually has not been without controversy. The MK party has stated that their requests for an in-person hearing were ignored by the ANC.

Represented by ANC National Executive Committee member Tony Yengeni, Zuma could become the first former leader of the ANC to be expelled from the party if the hearing does not go in his favour.
