Most Wanted Zimbabwean Fugitive Arrested In South Africa After Mountain Hideout Discovered

Police in Limpopo have re-arrested notorious fugitive Lovemore Musoyi, a Zimbabwean national who has been evading authorities after escaping custody. He was found hiding in the mountains in the Rakgoadi policing area on Friday, January 3, 2025.
Musoyi faces over 10 serious charges, including murder, attempted murder, armed robberies, house and business robberies, kidnapping, assault, stock theft, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
These crimes were allegedly committed across multiple areas in the Sekhukhune District, including Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, and Rakgoadi.

Fugitive Re-Arrest Details
Musoyi was apprehended through a joint operation involving the police and private security teams. Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that an unlicensed firearm was confiscated during the operation.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, commended the collaborative efforts leading to the high-profile arrest.
“The swift and coordinated action of our officers and security partners demonstrates our commitment to keeping communities safe,” said Hadebe.
Musoyi is expected to appear in court next week, where he will face multiple charges, including escaping lawful custody.
