Zim Politician Job Sikhala Claims Explosives In His Car Were A Setup

Zimbabwean opposition leader Job Sikhala has come out guns blazing after his dramatic arrest in Pretoria, insisting the explosives discovered in his vehicle were planted in an attempt to frame him.

Sikhala was arrested last week when police allegedly found 26 blasting cartridges and 15 capped fuse connectors inside his car.

He made his second appearance in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where he was granted R10,000 bail.

Walking out of court to cheers from dozens of supporters, Sikhala embraced his followers before addressing the media — and delivered a bombshell of his own.

Job Sikhala Says Evidence Will Clear His Name

The outspoken politician said he has evidence proving that the explosives did not belong to him and were deliberately placed in his car.

“There is no feja feja judiciary and there are no feja feja investigations. They have found out that these things have been planted in our car,” Sikhala told journalists.

Case Postponed as Political Tensions Rise

Despite the serious nature of the charges, Sikhala maintained he has faith in South Africa’s justice system, saying he does not believe the courts would be used to settle political scores.

Sikhala’s case has now been postponed to February next year as investigations continue.

The arrest has sparked political chatter across both South Africa and Zimbabwe, with Sikhala’s supporters claiming the case fits a pattern of alleged targeting of opposition figures.
