Zee Nxumalo Begs Fans For R250K To Shoot Music Video “Not In This Economy Sana!”

Zee Nxumalo is back at it again with the social media stunts. The Ngisakuthanda hitmaker shocked her fans on Monday, 18 August, when she jumped on X (formerly Twitter) asking her supporters to cough up R250K for her upcoming music video.

Sis simply tweeted: “I need 250k. That song needs a music video.”

And just like that, Zee had the timeline clutching their data bundles.

Fans left confused: “How do WE sponsor Zee Nxumalo?”

While some of her stans were ready to risk it all, others were giving her the serious side-eye. Many pointed out that Zee is already making waves in music and bagging her debut role on House of Zwide — so why does she need fans’ money?

The replies had Mzansi in stitches:

@cawanamsebele: “Send your banking details in my DM.”

@Sibonelo_Mbeje: “Remind me tomorrow, banks are closed. I was about to make my contribution, Dali.”

@greg_tmboss: “Give me your number and we’ll sort it out.”

@Uniqkidio: “Why so much money, Zee?”

@NjabuloEra23: “Send me your banking details, I can loan you the money with 10% interest.”

@Shobaneelihle: “Hayi sana, not in this economy”

@XZuluEchoe: “Aii kuyabheda mntase😭”

@EnigmaNjayam: “R250k for a music video is crazy business, especially in Mzansi. This is where AI makes a big difference.”

A PR stunt or real request?

Fans are already debating whether Zee’s call for donations was just her being playful or if she’s seriously crowdsourcing her career. Either way, she got everyone talking — which might’ve been the real plan all along.

Question is: will Mzansi really pull through with R250K, or is this just another “celeb with champagne tastes and follower’s pockets” moment?
