X Launches Exclusive Threads Feature Allowing Creators To Lock Parts Of Tweet Threads Behind Subscriptions

X has introduced new updates to its creator subscriptions platform, including a feature that allows creators to restrict parts of their tweet threads to paying subscribers.
The update gives participating accounts the ability to make sections at the end of a thread visible only to subscribers. Readers can see the start of a post chain but must subscribe to unlock the remaining content.
The feature is called Exclusive Threads, an unusual name choice considering that X’s main text-based social media competitor is called Threads.
New Exclusive Threads Feature Expands Monetisation Options For Creators
The new tool allows creators to tease premium content instead of placing the entire thread behind a subscription barrier.
In practice, users can view the beginning of a thread before encountering locked posts that are accessible only to subscribers. This approach aims to entice readers to sign up in order to view the rest of the discussion.

X Steps Up Efforts To Attract And Support Online Creators
The launch forms part of a broader push by X to strengthen its creator economy tools and attract more content producers to the platform.
Alongside Exclusive Threads, the company has rolled out additional features designed to help creators monetise their posts. One of these includes a “paid partnership” label that identifies sponsored content.
These updates reflect X’s ongoing effort to provide more revenue opportunities for creators while encouraging audiences to engage more deeply with premium content.
