Get ready to watch Zakes Batwini on Mzansi Magic’s I Blew It as inferiority complex is killing him when it comes to making good financial decisions. On a serious note please move the young generation far away from this guy as quickly as possible. We’re not ready for him to pollute their minds and after his interview with Mac G, we can’t help but feel sorry for Nandi Madida and her kids.
Zakes’ interview has made a lot of his followers question his reasoning. Okay, let’s start here; so he engaged himself in a lot of topics with MacG on his show- Podcast and Chill with MacG. But one that left us with raised eyebrows was when he talked about investments.
According to the singer, it’s better to invest in appearance than in immovable property. to break it down for you he said a luxurious car and expensive clothes are better than an expensive house as people hardly know where you stay.
“Why I would buy a BMW and not a house is because I spend 10 hours in the BMW and I only spend three hours in my house. And no one sees me when I get home. You can’t carry the house around,” Zakes said.
Wait that wasn’t the end, the Clap Your Hands hitmaker continued by saying”… Imagine if now I have a house in Midrand at Blue Valley Estate and I’m driving a Toyota Tazz for ten hours. People will be undermining me, I can’t get good service with the big house.
“While someone from Soweto who lives in a back room gets all the service he needs. I’ve invested but I’m not enjoying my house because no one is seeing my house. So that’s why we must wear our value and we must drive our value wherever we go,” Zakes explained.
“A white guy might be looking at us and think these guys are stupid, they’re spending money in something that deteriorates but no man I am just buying my skin. I just want to be happy for ten hours. I am buying my ten hours of happiness that’s why I am investing a lot of money here.
“Because everywhere I go with these explain clothes they praise me, that’s what I want joe. But If I’m not wearing expensive clothes no one associates with me. Even girls don’t look at me, I don’t even feel like I belong. But I have a big house which if I invite girls because of my clothes they won’t join me. They don’t know that I have a big house, they can’t see it.”

With such a mentality, SA might as well start saving donations for Zakes as we not seeing him living it large after retirement. We just hope he won’t end up at his parent’s home or sleeping in his luxurious cars… that’s if he’ll even finish paying for them.
