Woman Gunned Down Outside Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court In Midday Shooting

A 25-year-old woman was fatally shot outside the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town on Monday afternoon. According to Western Cape police, the shooting occurred around midday on Bentley Road, not far from the court premises.
The woman was reportedly returning to her vehicle after attending court when unknown assailants opened fire. The red VW Polo she was walking to was riddled with bullets. Moments later, police and emergency services arrived to find her slumped inside the car with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police Launch Murder Investigation After Woman Shot
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that officers responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. “Upon arrival on the scene, they found the victim inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to her body,” said Twigg. “The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.”
Authorities have opened a murder case and are actively investigating the motive behind the attack. So far, no arrests have been made.

Public Urged to Assist with Information
As investigators work to piece together the events leading to the fatal shooting, police are calling on the public to come forward with any relevant information. “The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation, and arrests are yet to be made,” Twigg added.
