Widow Of Slain Ekurhuleni Metro Police Officer Granted Bail In Murder Case

In a surprising ruling, by the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Sibongile Dlamini who was accused of murdering her husband Banele Skosana, 32, an Ekurhuleni Metro Police officer have been granted a R10,000 bail.

The tragic murder of Skosana sent shockwaves through the community when he was fatally shot on February 7, 2024, in KwaThema.

Skosana, who was offloading stock from his vehicle for a tuckshop he co-owned with his wife, was ambushed by two unknown gunmen on Vilakazi Street.
The attack, which was brutal and swift, left Skosana dead at the scene. What initially appeared to be a random act of violence soon turned into a shocking revelation involving those closest to the victim.
The investigation quickly uncovered that Skosana’s murder was allegedly orchestrated by his wife, 42-year-old Sibongile Dlamini, who is now facing charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Dlamini, who was arrested on the same day as her co-accused, 34-year-old Nhliziyozabantu Magwanyana, is believed to have masterminded the plot that led to her husband’s death.

Magwanyana, who has also been charged in connection with the murder, was arrested at a hostel in KwaThema on February 10, 2024.
