A 36-year-old Somalian national was robbed at gunpoint of R80,000 at the FNB Bank located in Masingita Mall, Giyani. The incident occurred on Monday, 11 November, at approximately 9:30 AM.
Details Of FNB Bank Robbery
According to a source who spoke to SurgeZirc SA, the victim was waiting at the bank’s entrance to be assisted by a consultant when two armed men approached him. The assailants demanded the cash.

In a desperate bid to protect himself, the victim attempted to flee into the bank; however, the robbers pursued him inside.
Aftermath of the Incident
As the robbery unfolded, panic ensued within the bank. Both customers and staff scrambled for safety, leaving the victim vulnerable. In a frantic effort to evade the attackers, he sought refuge in an online corner of the bank, but the armed robbers swiftly followed him and successfully obtained the money.

Fortunately, the victim escaped with minor injuries and a case of armed robbery and attempted murder has been opened.
