39-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Murder After Fatal Stabbing Of Boyfriend

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of her boyfriend following a domestic dispute in Mokwallo, Vredefort.

Argument Turns Deadly

Police spokespersons confirmed that on Thursday, 4 September 2025, at around 19:30, an argument broke out between the suspect and her boyfriend, Thumello Mokone (34), at their residence on Jabafu Street. The altercation allegedly escalated, leading to Mokone being fatally stabbed in the upper body.

Womans’s Boyfriend Succumbs to Injuries

Mokone was rushed to Parys Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was arrested later that night in connection with the incident.

The woman, described as an African female aged 39, is expected to appear before the Vredefort Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 8 September 2025, on a charge of murder.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
