University Of Venda Student Stabbed To Death, Boyfriend Arrested After On-Campus Incident

Police in Limpopo have launched a murder investigation after a 20-year-old University of Venda student was fatally stabbed at an on-campus residence in Thohoyandou.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend, also a 20-year-old student, during a confrontation on Friday.

Suspect Arrested After Attempted Escape

Limpopo police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the young woman was discovered in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.

“Further information suggests that the suspect tried to evade arrest by jumping through the window from the third floor, and he sustained some injuries,” Ledwaba said.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility under police guard.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect is expected to appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face a charge of murder.
