Two Women Found Dead On Mamelodi Roadside As Police Launch Urgent Manhunt For Killers

Police in Tshwane have launched an urgent double murder investigation after the bodies of two young women, aged 21 and 22, were discovered on Sompisi Street, Extension 17, Mamelodi East, on Sunday morning.

Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds to the head, police confirmed.

Cousins Identified as Victims (Women)

The deceased were identified as Tshiamo Moramaga and Baleseng Moramaga, cousins from Mamelodi. Tshiamo was studying beauty therapy, while Baleseng was pursuing a teaching qualification.

Their grieving mother and aunt, Itumeleng and Maggie Moramaga, said they last saw the women alive on Saturday evening, only to receive devastating news of their deaths the following morning.

“I have two sons left, but my only daughter is gone. We want to know why they were killed,” said Itumeleng, heartbroken.

Police Appeal for Information

According to police spokesperson Captain Johan van Dyk, officers from SAPS Mamelodi East arrived at the scene at around 06:15 after community members discovered the bodies.

Crime scene experts were called in to collect evidence as police launched a manhunt for the killers. No arrests have been made.
